Coated Vicryl Plus Antibacterial Suture, Violet Braided, CT-1 Needle, Size 0, 36" is a synthetic, absorbable suture made from polyglactin 910. The suture features a braided structure and a violet coating to enhance visibility and handling during surgical procedures. Its taper point needle design allows for smooth tissue penetration, minimizing trauma and facilitating precise suturing in delicate soft tissues.

This suture is specially formulated with antibacterial properties, incorporating triclosan to inhibit bacterial colonization. It has demonstrated effectiveness in vitro by creating a zone of inhibition against common surgical site pathogens, including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis (MRSE). 

The antibacterial coating does not compromise the suture’s mechanical strength or absorption profile. It provides reliable knot security and maintains sufficient tensile strength during the critical wound healing phase. The violet color improves suture visibility, aiding surgeons in precise placement and reducing handling time.
